Starting your day with intention changes everything. Before you check your phone or rush into your daily tasks, taking just 10 minutes to align your body can significantly improve your focus and energy levels throughout the day.
Step 1: The Child's Pose
Begin on your hands and knees. Sit back on your heels and reach your arms forward. Rest your forehead on the mat. Take 5 deep breaths here. This simple posture gently stretches the lower back and hips, signaling to your nervous system that it is safe to wake up.
Step 2: Cat-Cow Stretches
Move onto all fours. As you inhale, drop your belly towards the mat and lift your chin and chest (Cow). As you exhale, draw your belly to your spine and round your back toward the ceiling (Cat). Repeat this flow 5 to 10 times to warm up the spine.
Step 3: Downward-Facing Dog
From all fours, tuck your toes under and lift your hips high toward the ceiling. Keep a slight bend in your knees if your hamstrings are tight. Press your hands firmly into the mat and let your head hang loose. Hold for 5 long breaths.
